This is a very nice quality black curly lamb (aka Persian lamb) fur jacket made by the fashion house of Schiaparelli.  The jacket has a wide rounded collar, raglan styled sleeves and is cut with a wide body that flares slightly to the hemline.  It has above the wrist length sleeves, typical of the era so that one could show off one’s gloves.  There is a slash pocket built into either side.  The collar can be put up in order to protect the head and neck (see second photo) or the jacket can be worn with an open neckline (see photo).  It does up the front with a loop and hook at the neckline and another at the midpoint.  The jacket is lined in a silk satin fabric, embroidered at either side with a floral design.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but it should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit taking the thickness of the fur into account:

Sleeves: 25” from the neck seam to the cuff

Sleeve Inseam:  15 1/2”

Bust: 39” around 

Waist:  40” around

Hemline:  42” around

Length: 24”

Condition:  It is in very good condition with only a small wear spot to the top right edge of the opening, by the loop (see last close-up photo), not visible when the neck is closed and a small wear spot near the elbow on the left sleeve. Otherwise, the fur is fresh and odour free and, with normal care, should last for many more years.

This is a wonderful fur jacket by an influential Parisian fashion house - elegant 50s style!
